Crystal gave Silver a frown as she walked from her table to her desk, placing the papers there as neatly as she could. she doubled—tripled—check to make sure not a single one was out of place. When she felt satisfied, she turned to face Silver, crossing her arms.
“Cameras or not, you know I don’t like messes for too long. I’ve been meaning to organize those notes regardless.” She walked over to her couch, sitting in carefully but allowing herself to sink in slightly. “I’ve been… Fine. I’ve been fine.”
She rubbed her forehead a little while chuckling. “Yeah, my apartment’s very nice. It works though.”
His face, rather expressionless up to this point, contorted into a slight frown. “Fine” she was “fine” but he wouldn’t allow himself to believe those words. He never could, really. He walked over and sat on the couch, shifting slightly in his seat.
” ‘Fine,’ eh? Really. Seems like a pure and simple ‘fine’ doesn’t really cover the beginning of it…” He let out a sigh, genuinely not expecting more than a stubborn statement to defend her claim. “It suits you, really. I mean what does one really expect from an intern. You’re a big girl, I don’t need to tell you this stuff. But it really is like you. I trust you get by well, then.”
“Don’t say things like that.” Crystal frowned at him. She didn’t exactly know what he meant by those words, but she...
